Camp Euforia
Lone Tree, Iowa — July 16-18 — See website for details
Public Property, the long-time Iowa City reggae funk jam band, will once again reunite at this weekend’s Camp Euforia festival, the Lone Tree-based music fest organized by members of Euforquestra and hosted by farmer Jerry Hotz.
Dave Bess, leader of Public Property and solo artist in his own right, said his band reunites once or twice a year, usually for Camp Euforia and at least one other Iowa City performance.
Bess, who now lives in Chicago, said his band and Euforquestra are like brother and sister groups because they’ve played many of the same bills and traded members over the years. “We’ve been friends forever,” he said.
For this year’s fest, he’s bringing back what he called the “classic” Public Property lineup.

Other Iowa acts include Jack Lion, Fire Sale, Winterland, The Candymakers and Mr. Baber’s Neighbors: The Solar String Band.
The three-day fest starts Thursday with a full night of music and pre-party “Beermosas.” Friday will begin with stand-up comedy to wake up campers and welcome Friday arrivals. Yoga and pilates will also be featured at festival, along with the over 20 musical acts.
