Reimagining Downtown: Our day in photos

The following is part six in a series detailing the efforts of UI students as they work alongside influential Las Vegas entrepreneurs, including Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, to help reimagine the city’s downtown area. View the full series.

Note: Students are also posting Twitter Updates throughout the week using the “ReiDT” hashtag, while more official updates can be found via the group’s dedicated Twitter account.

Reimagining Downtown
9:36 a.m. – Started the day with a City Hall for a morning meeting with our favorite city officials (Bill and Flynn) who met with us over Skype earlier in the semester. The new city hall is in a beautiful building. #WouldntBeVegasWithoutNeon #YouCan’tFightCityHall

Reimaging Downtown
1:13 p.m. – Walking to the Arts District… maybe this is a little farther than we thought. #12Blocks #AreWeThereYet? #MapsAreOverrated
Reimagining Downtown
2:00 p.m. – After making the trek across town the Arts District did not disappoint with a number of unique and creative pieces and people to see. #FinalyThere #ArtIsCool
Reimaging Downtown
3:30 p.m. – Just got a tour with one of the local artists, Alex to see all the amazing hidden mural art downtown. #ThanksAlex #AmazingStories
Reimagining Downtown
5:06 p.m. – The week has really flown by! Last night of small group brainstorming sessions before we pitch our #BigIdeas tomorrow! #ReIDT #WhiteboardWindows
Reimaging Downtown
10:30 p.m. – To prepare for the scary important idea pitches tomorrow with Tony Hsieh, we had a mock shark tank pitch with our less important scary shark tank board of our mentors with us on the trip. #We’veComeALongWay #MockSharkTank

Hopefully the sharks tomorrow are as great as they were tonight. Time to craft our pitches and get some sleep #maybe #MockSharkTank
