The University of Iowa’s undergraduate queer organizations hosted STRUT, a charity event to benefit United Action for Youth in association with LGBT History Week. Hunter “Hunty Bunches” Gillaspie and Dan “Sugar D” Solon hosted the event dressed to the nines in their drag personas and invited people to strut their stuff down the catwalk in heels for a $3 donation to UAY and a chance to win a golden heel trophy. Besides the strutting, there was also a runway look competition with six different categories, including “executive realness”, “Hawkeye pride” and “futuristic fantasy”.
