Mission Creek Festival hosts a night of punk, grunge and metal at the Trumpet Blossom Cafe tonight at 8 p.m. with three all-lady rock acts including Iowa City’s own Younger, L.A. Witch and Atlanta’s The Coathangers. The show is hot off the heels of the weekend’s sold-out Girls Rock Iowa City closing night performance (if you’re unfamiliar with this amazing female and trans-identified youth music camp, educate yourself here!). Tickets are $12 at the door and $10 in advance.

The show is one stop on The Coathangers national tour in support of their fifth studio album, Nosebleed Weekend, with L.A. Witch riding along. I gave L.A. Witch a listen, they sound like a garage seance evoking the ghost of Dick Dale, which I dig. IC’s famous Younger are set to open.

Be sure to get there early, as there are only 100 tickets available.
