This weekend in Iowa will see a sausage-themed music show, cheeky cabarets and plenty of horror for the weekend before Halloween. Iowa City and Dubuque bring the comedy, with the Lady Franklyn Improv show at Willow Creek Theatre in IC and The Jester’s Lounge in Dubuque hosting a laugh battle: 15 comedians enter, one is crowned the victor.
The punk band Worst Impressions hosts the Wurst Impressions Sessions (say that three times fast) at Gabe’s, which brings a full lineup to the music venue. For your Halloween tinged offerings, look no further than The Rocky Horror Picture Show shadowcast at CSPS Hall in Cedar Rapids or the Dark Orchid Cabaret, a Halloween-themed burlesque extravaganza, at The Garden in Des Moines.
