The holiday shopping season unofficially kicks off this week, and in anticipation, NewBo City Market (1100 Third St. SE, Cedar Rapids) is holding holiday artisan markets offering locally produced gift options for shoppers. The holiday artisan market will open next Friday, Nov. 28 and go through Dec. 21.
NewBo typically has guest merchants on weekends, but during the holiday season they will expand the all-local, producer-only market to include Fridays as well. Over the course of the month, there will be 80 local merchants selling goods. Items for sale will include everything from clothing and jewelry, to preserves and baked goods. Quilted School, Candle Barn, Shakespeare’s Chocolate, Old School Barbeque, Salsa Guy and Heart of My Home Granola will be among the many local merchants present.
NewBo City Market’s holiday guest market hours are Fridays and Sundays 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
