Cedar Rapids NewBo/Czech Village Halloween Parade
Third St and Ninth Ave SE — Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.

When it comes to Halloween, you might be on the lookout for floating phantasms and the like. But floats of a different kind will celebrate the spooky holiday as the Halloween Parade wends its way through the streets of the New Bohemia District and Czech Village on Friday night, Oct. 27.
The parade is a project of the Czech Village New Bohemia Main Street District and is being organized by Terry-Durin Co., an electronic parts supplier. The parade has more than 60 entries lined up to participate.
The parade kicks off at 7 p.m. at the corner of Third St and Ninth Ave SE The route will take the floats down Third Street to 16th Ave and across the bridge to Czech Village. C St SW marks the parade’s end point.
Awards, which will be handed out at NewBo City Market around 8:30 p.m., will be given to floats in a variety of categories.
Other activities are scheduled in conjunction with the parade including two movies — Hocus Pocus and The Rocky Horror Picture Show — face painting, a jack-o-lantern party and a bar crawl.
