My arms are quivering a little while I type this–I just finished working out and my arms feel like Jello without the mold. I was supposed to have been working out all last week, but I had a couple of false starts. So today is technically my *second* first day. Team Little Village was a glimmer in the eye of LV editorial intern Kelly Ostrem, and I’m trying to make good on my part to be part of the team.
Coupla challenges:
1) Team LV doesn’t really see each other so often. So we have to find a way to motivate each other online.
2) Little to no funding: In our current incarnation, LV doesn’t exist to be a money-maker. We’re the community spirit driven sort. So we have to find inexpensive alternatives for the group when we get together.
3) Finding the right group activities: Not everyone likes to ice skate. What can we all do that’s fun enough that we all clear our schedules on a Saturday afternoon? (Ideas are welcome.)
There are more, for sure. Like my personal challenge is figuring out a goal. “Eat more vegetables and exercise more” doesn’t cut it, but I’m not unhappy enough about my weight to make my goal losing 20 pounds. I don’t want to be a stick, but I want to stop feeling like lethargic poop. I also think my 5’5″, 155ish body has started to waddle in my 28th year. “Balance more, waddle less” is also a goal not achievable without concrete steps.
I’m hoping to have my first second day tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll let y’all know how that goes.
