Mission Creek Festival, in conjunction with the Iowa City/Coralville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau and Iowa River Landing, is presenting a free series of events on Saturday afternoon at the Iowa River Landing complex in Coralville. Framed as “a taste of Mission Creek Festival,” the event will feature several local performers as well as special deals at the venues where they perform.

Kicking off the afternoon is a reading by Iowa City writers Jeff Holmes and Mission Creek presenter Robyn Schiff. That event will be held at the Waterstreet Coffee Bar at 925 E. Second Ave.

At 3 p.m., head over to Luxe Interiors, in its new location at 920 E. Second Ave., Suite 110. There, you can enjoy the indelible wit of comedian Megan Gogerty (who will also be co-hosting the Englert/FilmScene Oscars party on Feb. 28).

Wrapping things up will be singer Elizabeth Moen, who recently released her self-titled debut album. Moen’s set starts at 4 p.m. at 30hop, 900 E. Second Ave.

The events will highlight both the best of local talent and the venues available at Iowa River Landing.
