Can music transport a simple room in the basement of the Jefferson Building,
to a Appalachian mountain holler? Public Space One is prepping for such travel. This Wednesday, from 5-6pm, join us in welcoming the neo-traditional bluegrass stylings of Kodiak Flats. Toting influences like Tony Rice, Bill Monroe, and the Punch Brothers, this three piece act, out of Mt. Vernon, IA, will resonate with foot stompers and ballad lovers alike. Sounding much like a Midwestern, farm-raised Ryan Adams, songwriter and lead vocalist, Jake Niederhauser minds the old time song structure, while weaving evocative lyrics into a fabric that feels fresh, as much as it does nostalgic. So come on out and get your flatfoot on, folks.
