Little Village Comedy Hour with Chris Thayer
The Mill — Saturday, Oct. 17 at 10 p.m.
Thayer came to the attention of many comedy fans as an opener for comedian Pete Holmes, who, on his popular You Made It Weird podcast, described Thayer as “one of the hands-down funniest people I know” (and he is perhaps also one of the spiciest, to judge from the above video).
With a knack for smart, understated humor, Thayer has become a favorite on L.A.’s alternative comedy scene over the last few years, performing throughout the city and on The Business L.A., a popularly weekly stand-up show he co-founded. Thayer has been twice featured on Put Your Hands Together, a stand-up showcase and podcast co-hosted by the 2015 Mission Creek comedy feature performer Cameron Esposito.
Thayer has toured nationally and appeared at numerous comedy festivals including SF Sketchfest, Bridgetown Comedy Festival and this summer’s Crom West Festival. The day before he performs for the Little Village Comedy Hour, Thayer will headline the Minneapolis 10,000 Laughs Festival.
The show is hosted by former Little Village editor Arish Singh and Robert Flanagan, and, in addition to Thayer, features stand up by Singh, Flanagan, Rubén Lebron and Clare Roth. The event is sponsored by Little Village magazine and Funny or Die: University of Iowa.
