Actress and writer Lena Dunham, star of HBO’s Girls, will campaign for Hillary Clinton in Des Moines and Iowa City on Jan. 9, according to a report published today by the Des Moines Register. Details about when and where Dunham will appear are still TBA.

Dunham has remained a vocal Clinton supporter throughout the nomination process, touting the former Secretary of State on social media in addition to appearing in Clinton campaign ads. In September, Dunham conducted an interview with Clinton wherein the two discussed whether Clinton considers herself a feminist (“Yes, absolutely”), as well as women’s health issues, mounting student debt and equal pay between genders.

The Girls creator is recognized by many for her outspoken, progressive views and millennial clout, and should add some extra star power to Clinton’s campaign as she faces off against Bernie Sanders leading up to the Iowa Caucuses on Feb. 1.

Dunham also supported President Barack Obama with a campaign ad in 2012.

Clinton, meanwhile, will be in Iowa City on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 2:45 p.m. for a campaign rally at Old Brick Church (26 E Market St.).

  1. First Katy Perry and now Lena Dunham. With heavy-hitters like this, how can Clinton go wrong?
