CSPS — Saturday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m.

Longtime fans of Susan Werner rejoice! The Iowa-native folk musician stops through CSPS in Cedar Rapids this Saturday, Nov. 14 while on a 20th anniversary tour for her album, Last of the Good Straight Girls. This album — produced by long-time Lou Reed collaborator Fernando Saunders — marked Werner’s national label debut, though it was her third release at the time.

In the 20 years since the release of Last of the Good Straight Girls, Werner has spent her time honing her craft, releasing 10 additional albums, and is regularly praised for her songwriting abilities and spirited live performances. Show-goers can expect a wide-ranging setlist highlighting both the lively, upbeat, foot-stomping side and the equally engaging slowed-down soulful side of Werner.
