The Iowa State Fair announced today its free entertainment lineup for the upcoming festival (August 7-17), touting a list that includes Los Lonely Boys, The Nadas, Alien Ant Farm and The Romantics of “What I Like About You” fame.

The free music and entertainment events will be split across four stages, with the Fairview stage hosting most of the bigger talent. Dozens of additional events will take place across three smaller stages, including the Iowa State Fair Queen Coronation on August 9. A full list of free events across all four stages is available here.

The selection is about what you’d expect from a nationally recognized state fair (read: innocuous), which is probably for the best considering all of the other distractions that’ll be floating around throughout the week. That’s right, I’m talking deep fried everything.

Earlier this year, officials announced the lineup for the fair’s Grandstand (main stage) line-up, which includes Newsboys, Goo Goo Dolls, Daughtry, Plain White T’s, Lady Antebellum, Foreigner and Styx. A full rundown of the Grandstand performances is available here. Tickets for Grandstand performances must be purchased individually.
