Iowa Burlesque Festival holds weekend of tantalizing performances

The 2nd Annual Iowa Burlesque Festival invites admirers of the glamorous and amorous to indulge in two evenings of sensual dance and racy comedy at Davenport’s Adler Theatre on Oct. 24 and 25.

The main event of the festival is the burlesque competition Friday evening, where burlesque performers will face off in many different categories for the title of Princess and Queen of each competition. There will also be a competition for male burlesque performers.

The following evening, the winners of Friday’s competition will take the stage with professional burlesque performers from around the country and world, including Danielle “Dannie Diesel” Colby of American Pickers.

During the festival, there will also be various classes and workshops for those interested in learning burlesque. Tickets for each individual events can be purchased online.

Tickets for the events are available online for $59 Doors open at 7 p.m. for both the Friday and Saturday evening performances.
