Iowa ACLU leader steps down after less than two years

On Monday night, Jeremy Rosen announced his decision to leave the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Iowa where he’s worked since January 2015. In a social media post, Rosen called the decision “some difficult news.”

In 2015, Rosen replaced Ben Stone, who had worked as the group’s director for 18 years until his resignation in July of 2014.

Before moving to Des Moines, Rosen was the advocacy director of the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty in Washington, D.C.

A spokesperson for the Iowa ACLU said the group had accepted his resignation but could not comment on his departure.
