Mosley’s Barbecue and Provisions will combine fitness, food and fundraising this weekend with their first annual Mosley’s Pig Pedal Classic. The local bike ride is any-skill-level friendly with the end goal of raising funds for Children’s Cancer Connection. The Des Moines-based non-profit provides resources for pediatric patients and their families who may be diagnosed, treated, or living in Iowa.

The fundraiser idea originated from conversations on how to strengthen Mosley’s relationship with Children’s Cancer Connection, said owner Sean Keller. With the help of other local restaurants, the Pig Pedal Classic will have stops along the route with activities, raffles and games for both participants and spectators. Lunch will be available for purchase at Red’s Alehouse, the third stop for participants.

Fitness and fundraising enthusiasts can register online or at Mosley’s on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. for $40, which includes breakfast and a hog roast at Moseley’s, and tank top, which will also be available to purchase separately at the event. Proceeds from the registration fee, raffles, games etc. will be donated to Children’s Cancer Connection.

Following the ride, participants can enjoy live music from Catfish Murphy and games until 11 p.m.
