Illuminations Healing and Arts Center in Cedar Rapids is hosting a Spiritual Awareness Day, featuring 10 religious speakers from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. this Saturday. The speakers represent a variety of faiths such as Buddhism, Native American and Shamanism among others.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience demonstrations of modality, or energy. Tarot cards, pendulums, chakra and runes will be available at several booths.

Owner Michelle Stafford says she hopes this event will facilitate community and discussion between members of all faiths. She expects a crowd of between 200-300 people will attend at least one of the speakers..

“I really hope [participants will] feel togetherness and connection,” Stafford said. “Talking to people they wouldn’t normally, experiencing new things, breaking down borders is important. We don’t have to fear each other because of our differences.”
