Hinterland announced the lineup for its 2025 festival, returning to St. Charles the first weekend in August.

The announcement comes with assurances from organizers that changes will be made to improve the Hinterland experience. Reports of overcrowding and inadequate measures to deal with Iowa’s brutal summer heat, particularly in the early days of the weekend, marred the 2024 festival.

Some of those changes include a new “weather-related ticket return policy” and a move “to a bigger space within the festival grounds” providing more room and shade.

Hinterland will welcome Grammy-winning headliners spanning hip-hop, country and alt-pop: Tyler, The Creator, Kacey Musgraves and Lana Del Rey. Other standouts in a lineup Rolling Stone described as “stacked” include the indie darling Clairo, bilingual psychedelic pop act The Marías, “Photo ID” singer Remi Wolf and the post-meme, Friday-loving Rebecca Black.
