An evening with Hot Buttered Rum

Yacht Club – Sunday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. ($12-15)

San Francisco-based bluegrass act Hot Buttered Rum (HBR) are set to perform at the Yacht Club this Sunday at 8 p.m. Known nationally for their vigorous touring schedule, HBR have garnered a reputation for their stunning live shows, which grows from the chemistry that has developed between the five band members after over a decade of playing shows together.

The band’s three songwriting members — Aaron Redner, Nat Keefe and Erik Yates — all agree that covering the wide range of emotions within the human experience is vital to a powerful show, and their perfectly delivered three-part harmonies bring a beautiful intimacy to their shows.

The group’s years of touring have brought them to countless festivals across the country, including the Telluride Bluegrass Music Festival, the Newport Folk Festival and South by Southwest. HBR have also had the privilege of playing with numerous high-profile acts over the years, including Phil Lesh, Ben Harper and Chris Tile.

With a sound that is continuing to evolve, HBR have staked out a unique blend of acoustic bluegrass music that’s exploratory yet familiar and well-worn. Their performance promises to feature a wide array of songs that have sprung from the love of a group of close knit musicians and their passion for sharing their music to interested audiences.
