The Blue Moose Tap House — Saturday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m.

With the recent breakup of Underoath, the crazy legal fallout of As I Lay Dying and Demon Hunter’s transition to alternative metal, it’s safe to say that Christian metalcore needed a savior.

And fans of the genre may have found just that savior in For Today, which is quickly becoming one of the hottest bands in Christian metalcore.

The group is back in Iowa City for round two of their “Fight The Silence” tour, continuing to build success on their breakthrough album, and preaching Christianity along the way. The group is no stranger to Iowa City, having played back in March at the Blue Moose Tap House.

Opening are The Color Morale, Crossfaith, Palisades and Noah.

For Today hasn’t released any new material since their previous Iowa City performance, but they have announced plans for a new album later this year. In the meantime, check out the lead single and title track from Fight The Silence:
