Early voting for the November 8 presidential election began this morning.

Find out where you can place your ballot by visiting the Johnson County Auditor’s Office website , the Linn County Auditor’s Office website or the calendar of satellite voting locations.

The Linn County Auditor’s Office is temporarily located at the Linn County Community Services Building (1240 26th Ave. Court SW) in Cedar Rapids but will be back in its usual location in the Public Service Center (935 Second St. SW) on Monday.

“We just want to make sure people are aware that they have a lot of options. There’s mail-in absentee ballots, voting here in the office, satellite voting or voting on election day if that’s part of their tradition,” said the Linn County Deputy Commissioner of Elections Tim Box.

“Here in Iowa there are so many opportunities to exercise your right to vote that it’s hard to say you didn’t have time,” Box said.

He said they currently have not had the usual high volume of people coming in to vote on the first day of early voting or requesting absentee ballots, though part of that may be due to flooding in Cedar Rapids and the temporary relocation of the auditor’s office.
