Eight downtown businesses are banding together this weekend to host the Downtown Women’s Warehouse Sale in the former Wedge Ped Mall location (136 S. Dubuque St.) on Friday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Velvet Coat, Nori, Catherine’s, Catherine’s X French Connection, Dulcinea, Textiles, Revival and Jami Jewelry will all be participating in this massive warehouse sale.

Each retailer will donate a portion of their sales from the day to local charities like the United Way, Domestic Violence Intervention Program and the McKinney Vento Act, which provides transportation to school for area homeless children.

“We all like to donate to charity … It’s just a good time to kick off something big downtown and show Iowa City that we’re all in this together,” said Stevie Toomey, owner of Nori. “We’re all one big store — we’re one big family downtown.”

Retailers will be selling their inventories for up to 75 percent off regular prices, and plan to hold regular business hours during the sale.
