Daytrotter, the esteemed Quad Cities-based music website and recording studio, is presenting a festive holiday show with special guest singer-songwriter David Bazan at Davenport’s Village Theatre (2113 E. 11th St.) this Thursday at 7 p.m.

Although it falls on a Thursday, the event is a continuation of the eponymous series started by Sean Moeller one year ago, dubbed Moeller Mondays, which brings Daytrotter recording artists into Quad City venues. Last summer, Urge Overkill and Built to Spill were welcomed into the musical milieu of Moeller Mondays.

Moeller says he had stopped hosting holiday shows for a few years, but brought it back for 2015 because Bazan wanted to do a musicale in Iowa.

Bazan, who toured for a decade fronting the indie rock act Pedro the Lion, will play a solo set as a break from his Living Room Show tour. He will be joined by The Still Tide (who play in Iowa City on Dec. 19 at the Yacht Club) and the Georgia duo, Pony Bradshaw.

“David’s been a great friend of Daytrotter since the very beginning,” Moeller said.

Bazan was one of the first artists to record with Daytrotter, which opened in 2006.

“He’s just one of the great American songwriters. He can stun you with how good he is.”

Get there early because while supplies last, you can sample one of the only remaining bottles of Daytrotter Pale Ale, created this summer by Des Moines’ Exile Brewery Company. The specialized brew will not be available again until April.
