Kick up your heels in holiday spirit this Saturday at Old Brick! The Champagne Academy of Irish Dance will be presenting their 5th annual Christmas Céilí, an exciting milestone for what has become a local tradition. Champagne Academy offers lessons in Irish dancing year-round, and as well as being a festive social event, the Christmas Céilí is an opportunity for the students to show off their skills. Dancer Susan Kula, who has been studying for four years, is excited to perform at Saturday’s event, along with her husband, Nate. She calls the Céilí “a great Christmas family tradition,” and notes that Irish dancing is a fun way to spend time together as a family.

Advance tickets are no longer available; at-the-door pricing is $16 per person (plus taxes and fees), with children under four admitted free. A performance by Academy students will kick things off at 6 p.m., followed by Irish social dancing for all from 7–9 p.m. There will also be a silent auction featuring donations from area artists and businesses. Cedar Rapids-based Celtic band Lilywren will provide live music.
