The inaugural Corridor on Tap beer festival will kick off the weekend this Friday, Nov. 21, 5โ€“9 p.m. at the Doubletree by Hilton Cedar Rapids Convention Complex (350 1st Ave. NE), offering samples of 100 different beers from a variety of national and international breweries.

Corridor on Tap will offer unlimited samples of beers to those in attendance. Breweries pouring samples include Iowaโ€™s Great River, Peace Tree and Millstream breweries, as well as breweries like Founders, Empyrean, Tallgrass and Goose Island. A souvenir glass for tasting the beers will be provided with the price of admission.

The beer festival is part of America On Tap, a series of beer festivals organized by the Greenwich, Connecticut-based Townsquare Media Group, a media company that owns four radio stations in Cedar Rapids.

Wyatt Crowell, the associate producer of life events at Townsquare Lifestyle Events, said the convention center will provide food, which will likely include burgers, hot dogs, pretzels and popcorn. Though outside food is normally not allowed, Crowell said attendees can bring their own pretzel necklaces.

In addition to food and beer, there will be live music from Big Mojo, and attendees will have the chance to win a โ€œGame Day Hideaway,โ€ which includes a 50-inch TV, a leather recliner and an Xbox.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $35 or at the door for $45, if they are still available. Admission for designated drivers will cost $10.
