Jo Davis-McElligatt lived in Iowa City from 1989-1995, and again from 2002-2010. She holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Iowa, and is currently an associate professor of Ethnic Studies at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette. She doesn’t own a coat anymore.
