The Mission Creek festival announced today that comedian Cameron Esposito has been added to its 2015 lineup. Esposito will be performing a stand-up comedy show at the Englert Theatre on Wednesday, April 1. Tickets go on sale at noon on Tuesday, February 17, at midwestix.
2014 was a breakout year for Esposito. She was listed among the Advocate’s “40 Under 40” and was named Comedian of the Year by Chicago’s Consequence of Sound, and her comedy album Same Sex Symbol made the “Best of 2014” lists of both The AV Club and Paste Magazine. 2014 also saw Esposito making her network television debut on The Late Late Show, during which fellow guest Jay Leno called her the “future of comedy.”
2015 has seen Esposito’s profile continue to rise. Just last week she garnered the much coveted spot of featured guest on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast. In advance of the interview she released a video segment from her stand up act that seems poised to go down as one of the most iconoclastic routines of her career.
