Celebrate Hancher’s opening at ‘Drawing Closer’

In anticipation of a new grand opening in 2016, Hancher Auditorium will begin its 2015 campaign with a free event packed with art, food, games and more this Saturday, August 22 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. “Drawing Closer: Celebrating Hancher’s Upcoming Opening”, is a family festival that will feature professional chalk artists, a STEAM workshop and the band Squonk Opera. You can join the party in the roadway connecting Park Road to the Hancher parking lot.

Squonk Opera, a band known for making creative and unusual displays will perform “Pneumatica,” an event that uses a 40-foot inflatable Lady Pneumatica to breathe and create music.

“Pneumatica” performance times are:

11:30 a.m. – 12 noon
1 – 1:30 p.m. (followed by a STEAM workshop)
2:30 – 3 p.m.
