Busy Coworking to host first “Jelly” on April 19

ICAD Jelly | April 19 | Busy Coworking (218 E Washington St) | 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. | FREE

Attention freelancers! Iowa City now has a permanent coworking facility! Busy Coworking opened its doors last week, and will partner with the Iowa City Area Development (ICAD) Group to host its first (free) coworking “Jelly” this Thursday, April 19, 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, coworking events are designed to give people that work from home a chance to shine their shoes and go to a proper office, where other freelancers are also getting busy with their work, sharing the occasional idea, and breaking every few hours to refresh with a quick interesting video, like a TED talk. ICAD Group has been doing the events for awhile, usually at a public library, always for free, with wireless internet and coffee provided.

In a statement, ICAD Group says the events are designed “to create a creative environment that provides brainstorming, idea sharing, and conversations.” That’s all fine and good, but workers-from-home may also have to be prepared to give up a few things…

(I think you’ll be fine.) Enjoy coworking!
