Brew on tap at Kum & Go in Coralville

Now that the Coralville Kum & Go offers draft beer on tap, filling it up takes on a whole new meaning. The Kum & Go at 822 First Ave. in Coralville has Iowa and national brand beers to fill growlers (usually 64 ounce glass containers) that can be purchased at the store or brought from home. Connoisseurs can quaff craft beer samples but they can’t consume beer in the store.

The new tap lineup comes courtesy a 2015 law that allows fill-ups at package liquor, grocery and convenience stores and up to 72 ounces of beer per container.

The law was sponsored by State Sen. Jeff Danielson (D-Cedar Falls) and passed the Iowa Senate, 40-9, in 2015.
