Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Bread Garden Market is hosting a “Break into Wine” tasting event as a sort of crash course for would-be wine connoisseurs.

Wine aficionados will still feel at home with approximately 70 wines from every major growing region across the world, though–as its name suggests–the event is designed to appeal to wine experts and first-time tasters alike.

“The idea is to experience something you haven’t tried before,” said Bread Garden Market’s Wine Specialist Dan Ceresia, who mentioned that his ultimate goal is to foster beer and wine culture in the Iowa City area.

Saturday’s event marks Bread Garden Market’s second annual tasting with two sessions taking place at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Eight wine distributors will be on-hand to provide information for tasters, though attendees can expect to wander freely from table to table in addition to sampling food pairing options. Discounts will also be provided on all wines being sampled.

Tickets for the 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. tastings will be available at the door for $30, with advanced ticket sales available for $25 until 4:00 p.m. today.
