Yacht Club – Thursday, July 18 at 10:00 p.m.

We’ve talked a lot about the Run The Jewels show going on at Gabe’s. Killer Mike sharing the stage with El-P? Despot and Kool A.D. opening, with Iowa City’s own AWTHNTKTS throwing down out in the beer garden? Who can deny the incredible awesomeness that this show will be.

But, just up the alley, Bob Log III will have his signature shenanigans on display at the Yacht Club.

As anyone who has ever seen the one man band can attest, his shows are also can’t-miss affairs. Hell, married fans might even get to have an actual affair with the guy, at least for as long as it takes you to (consensually) dip your boob into a shot of scotch, the preferred beverage of Mr. Log. See classic tune: Boob Scotch.

Between “Boob Scotch” and other classics like “I Want Your Shit On My Leg,” Log III is known for pushing the ordinary limits of decency. Be advised, all manner of (consensual) activities might go down at tomorrow night’s Bob Log III show.

As a loyal fan of all of tomorrow night’s performers, I, for one, fully intend to partake in all of the night’s events. I guess that I haven’t seen Bob Log drink man-boob scotch, but I have seen him give man-boob scotch, so maybe tomorrow night will be my lucky night? Here’s hoping.

To that end, a humble plea: The Yacht Club and Gabe’s are owned by the same crew, so it would be really great if they might let us wander up and down the alley, partying at both shows, as they sometimes have in the past. It would probably be a no-brainer, but the Gabe’s show is presented by Mission Creek, and with a 3rd party involved on the production side (or 5th or 6th), those finances might be complicated to work out. That said, Mission Creek is known for creating just this kind of night. So, hopefully they will be on board with at least trying.

If you are into the idea, and want to help me give them a little nudge in this direction, head over to Facebook and stand with me today: ONE MILLION STRONG TO MAKE EL-P/KILLER MIKE + BOB LOG III ONE TICKET/TWO SHOWS. I really appreciate it! To sweeten the deal, if you join the event, I WILL GIVE YOU MAN-BOOB SCOTCH. (As long as you’re buying.) How’s that for a deal? I know. Pretty sweet. See you tomorrow night!
