Adeva Salon in Coralville will be moving to a new location in the Iowa River Landing in mid-December and people can get a sneak peak of the progress during an open house on Thursday, Nov. 17.

“We really liked the vibe of the area and it really feels like the community is there. It’s where people gather and a lot of exciting things are happening there,” salon co-owner Allisha Wegner said.

She said she hoped to be able to find ways to collaborate with some of the other businesses that are already located in the Iowa River Landing.

The salon, which Wegner runs along with co-owner Shannon Kindred, has been in it’s current location on 12th Ave in Coralville since 2008. That space previously held two other salons as well, which meant that Adeva inherited the design scheme and layout of the previous salon. The new location has been designed and built up from scratch, Wegner said. She said the salon hoped to go for a more open, modern-rustic feel.

“We’re really excited, and hope people come and check us out,” Wegner said.

The salon carries Aveda products and offers haircuts and styling as well as spa services.
