The Old Creamery Theater is putting on the debut performance of “Frankly Scarlett, You’re Dead!” the Gone with the Wind-parodying murder mystery this Friday, and I am gettin’ a case of the vapors just thinking about it.
The story follows Colonel Simpson, as he tries to marry off his two daughters Scarlett and Melody. But with the Civil War fast approaching, there are no suitable men for the two southern belles. What’s a Dad to do? Also, spoiler alert: there’s a Yankee spy at the dinner.
When you pick up a ticket, kindly have your choice of entree (either Pan Fried Chicken or Braised Pork Chop) ready. The ticket price ($47) includes soup, salad, entree, tax and gratuity. Here’s hoping they serve a tall glass of sweet tea, too.
The show runs every Friday and Saturday from February 14 to March 15. Tickets must be purchased 24 hours in advance, either over the phone or online.
Performances will be held in the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center in Cedar Rapids.
