Looking for a laugh this weekend?
The Second City, Chicago’s legendary comedy club, will be stopping at the Englert Theatre this Friday and Saturday on their “Happily Ever Laughter” tour. For 53 years, Second City has been producing sketch comedy perhaps second only to Saturday Night Live. Much like SNL, with each decade they are new faces, and always new superstars.
The extensive list of alumni is beyond impressive — Bill Murray, the Belushis, Chris Farley, Steve Carell and Tina Fey are just a handful of those that got their start with Second City. Their current cast may not ring any bells, but if history has proved anything, any one of them could blossom into the next comedy icon.
