
Eastside Artists Holiday Show

The Iowa City Eastside Artists’ annual Holiday Show will be held this weekend at the Masonic Lodge, located across from the Iowa City Public Library.
Boasting “Local Art from Hand and Heart,” the Eastside Artist Show offers local arts and crafts enthusiasts a chance to display their work to the public. The event promises to showcase a wide array of unique pieces, like Anne Goetz’s knitted fruits, veggies, and flowers and Monica Leo’s always popular puppets.
Look for: Claudia McGeehee’s nature prints and cards, Patti Zwick’s darling decorative quiltz and Nancy Romalov’s handcrafted woodwork creations.
Holiday Thieves Market
Iowa Memorial Union – December 7-8
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Wine Tasting 12-2 p.m.)
Sunday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The University of Iowa Fine Arts Council’s annual Holiday Thieves’ Market will take place this weekend at the IMU.
This year’s Thieves Market will feature work from over 100 artists specializing in mediums ranging from painting and drawing to woodworking, jewelry and ceramics. The UI Fine Arts Council will also be hosting their annual wine tasting during the Market on Saturday from 12-2 p.m.
Look for: Iowa fine art landscape paintings, a huge selection of functional and beautiful pottery, highly giftable jewelry you won’t find anywhere else.
Both events are free and open to the public.
