Not to be outdone by a sizable jazz festival and the celebration of a nation’s birth, the Firecracker 500 Festival made its return this weekend for the first time since the turn of the century, which I think you’ll agree is a much more exciting way to refer to ten years ago.
The event, hosted by the Blue Moose Tap House, featured over 20 bands over the course of three days, touting enough garage-rock to give a deaf man tinnitus. The festival also served as a sort of ad-hoc counterweight to the Iowa City Jazz Festival taking place just a block away, but who can complain about more variety?
With that said, be sure to check out the videos below. If you’re itching for more, you can find additional video from the Firecracker 500 Festival on the Little Village Youtube channel, as well as over 400 additional live performance and event videos for your enjoyment.
