Established 2001 | Always free!

Don’t head into the weekend with only the concept of a plan — there’s lots to do in central and eastern Iowa. Iowa City sees Chaka Khan gracing the Hancher stage and the Iowa City Bike Library holding their “Farm Cycle” event, where participants traverse gravel roads to visit area farms to enjoy food and drink. Speaking of culinary experiences, Dubuque is celebrating their Oktoberfest and North Liberty has the “Barks, Blues, and Brews” event to support the Fur Fun Rescue organization. The prize for most creative pairing goes to the “Pottery Peepshow” night in Des Moines, where participants work on the pottery project of their choice while performers in the local burlesque community put on a show. Check out the rest of this Weekender for more fun things to do with family, friends, even the dogs!
