Travel Writing Workshop

The Emma Harvat House, 332 E. Davenport St. — Friday, June 26 through Sunday, June 28 at varying times

The Iowa Writers’ House is set to host its first official class, a three-day travel writing workshop lead by memoirist Michele Morano. This is the second community writing event hosted by the Iowa Writer’s House this summer.

Morano, author of the travel memoir Grammar Lessons: Translating a Life in Spain, will explore the basics of craft, conceptual questions of identity and travel writing (“What does my experience mean?”), and share insights into the role of memory in the writing process.

Today is the last day to register for the IWH’s weekend-long literary immersion, which will include a wine and cheese reception on Friday night, followed by two intensive workshop sessions.

Participants can register on the Iowa Writers’ House website. The course fee is $150.
