The 8th annual Taste of Iowa City kicks off this Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 4 p.m., offering attendees the chance to sample dishes from more than 30 restaurants in the downtown and Northside neighborhoods.
The event, presented by MidWestOne Bank and hosted by the Iowa City Downtown District (ICDD), uses a ticket exchange system to showcase various eateries — and their eclectic menus — throughout the Iowa City area. The event is entirely walkable, with al fresco dining stations lining the sidewalks of participating restaurants.
Attendees will be able to exchange tickets, which are valued at about $1 each, for sample food items at participating restaurants from 4-8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at MidWestOne Bank (102 S Clinton St.). In addition, four ticket booths will be positioned throughout downtown Iowa City and the Northside neighborhood during the event itself.
