On Thursday evening, consider stopping by the Decades Event Center in West Des Moines for the 15th Annual Art & More for Shelter, a fundraiser for Families Forward. In Iowa City on Friday night, La Dame Blanche will be performing at Club Hancher, in addition to Suzanne Vega at the Englert. Top pick? Herein Lies The Truth, an autobiographical one-man show written and performed by UI MFA nonfiction candidate Aaron Pang. The first performance is Thursday, April 18 and the final show will take place on Sunday, April 28.

Widely regarded as one of the foremost songwriters of her generation, Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk revival of the early 1980s when, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, she sang what has been called contemporary folk or neo-folk songs of her own creation in Greenwich Village clubs.
