This is My Brave
Coralville Center for the Performing Arts — Friday, May 13 at 7 p.m.
This year marks the second annual eastern Iowa This is My Brave presentation. The event is a collection of stories, poems, songs and essays written and performed by people living with or affected by mental illness. The show will be held at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $20–25.
The event is part of a national series of such events sponsored by This is My Brave, Inc, a Virginia nonprofit that believes in the power of storytelling to bring communities together. There will be similar shows later this month in Denver, D.C. and Valparaiso, IN. In each case, local performers come together to share their stories. At the Coralville event, 12 eastern Iowa residents will be performing.
