Last year on Christmas Eve my grandma died. She was very old but still it rocked us all. We are a tiny but mighty family. I was taking my son to Urgent Care when she was in the ER… I picked up the strep medicine in the hospital pharmacy. Every other was closed. She died on the other side of the wall, as I picked up the white paper bag of pink medicine.
Then we realized COVID and flu were in the house on Christmas. Strep, COVID, flu, grief… here’s to hoping this holiday break is better. And love these kids!!! I was rocked by the end of the bottomless well of love and adoration I had always received from my grandmother. But I have spent the year realizing she loved me so hard I’m set for life. Let’s set these kids up for life.
