Rob Sand is bringing his 100 Town Hall Tour to Johnson County on Thursday evening with a stop in North Liberty. The Democratic candidate for governor is scheduled to host an hour-long meeting with voters at Field Day Brewing (925 Liberty Way). The event starts at 5:30 p.m.
Sand, the sole remaining Democrat in statewide office, announced his run for governor on May 12, and began his town halls tour in June with an event in Waukee. North Liberty will be the 48th stop on the tour.
Sand has done 100-stop tours each year as Iowa State Auditor, speaking with audiences in all 99 counties. While many other Iowa politicians do 99-county tours, Sand says that because Lee County has two county seats — Fort Madison and Keokuk — he adds a stop to the tour in order to visit both.
