Fashion Weekend

Downtown Iowa City, May 9-10

The Iowa City Downtown District’s first ever Fashion Weekend kicks off this Friday, bringing fashion shows, trunk sales, styling lessons, cocktail parties and more to 27 businesses in the downtown and northside neighborhoods.

Participating merchants will stay open until 8 p.m. on Friday for Fashion After Hours, and each store will offer live music, refreshments, talks with designers, art exhibits, mini spa experiences or sales. On Saturday, the event continues all day with The Party After the Party.

For Fashion Weekend, participating retailers will focus on trends for spring and offer shoppers treats, including coupons and free food. Other highlights include, a lipstick bar at Buzz and a champagne and nail bar at Revival, a palm reader at Textiles and a performance by Iowa City’s own Les Dames du Burlesque, also at Revival. Check out the ICDD website for a full list of participating retailers.
