Film Scene Meet and Greet
Saturday, June 8 – 12-5 p.m.
FilmScene’s Scene 1, an upcoming venue for American and international contemporary films, is holding a meet and greet this Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The single-screen theater is expected to open this fall and is located in the building once occupied by Vito’s in Iowa City’s pedestrian mall (118 East College Street). In addition to the theater space, Scene 1 will include a cafe and gathering area for patrons to sit down and relax with fellow film buffs.
From noon until 3:00 p.m., meet and greet visitors will be able to speak with FilmScene founders Andrew Sherburne and Andy Brodie, as well as members of the non-profit organization’s board of directors.
From 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Scene 1 will be screening hand-picked animated shorts. To complete the experience, free Iowa popcorn will be available in the lobby/cafe area. This event is free and open to the public.
