Thanks, Yale. That is a great interview. I included mention of it in my original draft, but space considerations led me to cut it (and many other good points). I also mentioned your interview with Dave Burt of the Red Avocado--people should check that out, too.

We talked with some local business owners and developers (including Greg Delzer, owner of the now displaced defunct Books)about Iowa City’s zoning codes and how they’re endangering independent small businesses in favor of monstrously over-sized student apartment buildings and how they can and should be changed to help preserve the diversity of small and locally-owned businesses which make Iowa City such a special place to live in before it’s too late.

Obviously the writer, err, what's her name, doesn't know shit about Shane Morlan and seems too pretentious to be writing reviews about anyone.

The Boxknifes smoothed things over? You probably heard 30 seconds of one song and then left so that statement doesn't mean shit and has no ground. I'm sorry your art has to be fed to you through a baby bottle but that's no reason to spew your hatred towards something you don't know anything about...MUSIC!

I suggest you go back to bed and cuddle up with your little ipod and listen to Simon and Garfunkle. Thank you for wasting my time with this bogus review. That a minuet of my life I'll never get back you poor excuse of a reporter.

Never heard of The Boxknifes or......sorry, had to go back to the top of the screen to read the other band's name, Spook Light. So I don't have anything to say about them.

[...] In conjunction with the Yacht Club show, Gabe’s will be hosting Punk Farm 2012, featuring some of the raddest bands in the area (Lipstick Homicide, Supersonic Piss, The Ills, Brains Brains Brains, The Blendours, Toe Tappingly Tragic, The Wheelers, Nebula Was, Drawn to Fury, Muddy Rails). Both the Yacht Club show and this one are going to be long evenings, so it might be a smart idea to alternate shows at your leisure to keep things fresh. Fellow LV contributor, A.C. goes a little more in depth about this two-club affair in his new column, On The Beat. [...]
